One of the toughest but most rewarding roles in the professional body sector can be that of lay member. It can be a lonely and at times an extremely challenging task - requiring first class diplomatic skills tempered by a fearless ability to ask the difficult questions of well seasoned and dedicated professional board members who know their stuff.
This half day course sets out to support you in your role by:
Formalising what makes a good lay member
Examining skills audit research of the average lay member
Looking at different lay member roles and responsibilities
Identifying how lay board members fit within a modern professional body
Analysing lay member value
