The Nuclear Institute (NI) has appointed John Warden as Chief Executive Officer, who will take up the post in February.
John’s appointment comes after the resignation of Elaine Boyes who acted as the NI’s Executive Secretary for three years.
John is a Fellow of the Nuclear Institute, and a Chartered Engineer and Chartered Physicist. He began his nuclear career in the Royal Navy as a submarine PWR operator and maintainer, taught reactor physics to RN and civilian staff, and was supervisor and engineer of the RN’s training reactor, JASON. John joins the NI from the Engineering Construction Industry Training Board where he is Nuclear Sector Manager.
Following his appointment, John said: “The Nuclear Institute is one of the key organisations in the nuclear industry and is well positioned to lead the continued development of nuclear professionalism in the UK and globally. The Institute’s members, trustees, volunteers and staff are all dedicated to the aims of the Institute. I am delighted to have the opportunity to work with them.”
