New Research into Young People's Perception of Professions

As part of Professions Week, the Institute of Leadership & Management (ILM) ran a survey to find out about how young people view the professions.

The research data was collected through a survey of 1,200 14 to 19-year-olds whose parents or guardians were not working, or had jobs that were semi or unskilled, junior professional or supervisory. This is an indicator of socio-economic group and our sample is drawn from the middle and lower groups: those with slightly less privileged backgrounds.

The sample was taken from the YoungBods research panel, by the research agency ResearchBods2. The analysis and reporting has been carried out by ILM as part of the Professions Week group.
