Established in 1905, the National Association of Funeral Directors represents more than 3,700 UK funeral homes nationwide, UK and overseas suppliers to the profession and overseas funeral firms.
Its role is provide support and guidance to funeral firms and the bereaved families in their care.
The Association represents the funeral profession at all levels of Government in respect of legislation and campaigns on issues affecting not only funeral directors, but also the bereaved. NAFD provide informed opinion to Parliamentarians, Government agencies and consumer groups on all funeral matters.
The NAFD also takes the lead in education within the profession and is responsible for a range of professional development programmes, recognised by major UK educational bodies such as the National Open College Network and Birmingham City University.
