IoF: International Fundraising Community Gathers In London

The International Fundraising Summit gathered fundraising leaders from across the world in London to reflect and discuss opportunities, challenges and solutions for developing fundraising.

On Thursday 5th July 2018, fundraising leaders gathered in London at the International Fundraising Summit to share insight, thoughts and opinions from all around the world.

Delegates at the Summit also approved a revised version of the International Statement of Ethical Principles which had not been updated since 2016. The statement outlines shared principles for fundraising and standards for fundraising practice.

Peter Lewis, chief executive of the Institute of Fundraising said:

“I’m delighted to welcome the international fundraising community to London to sign the International Statement of Ethical Principles. It’s an important symbol of international cooperation across the fundraising community and recognises that wherever supporters are asked for money, it should always happen to a high standard and according to ethical principles. I’m proud that the IoF is supporting this work which contributes to the delivery of excellent standards of fundraising across the world.”

The event, hosted by the Institute of Fundraising (IoF), the professional membership body for UK fundraisers, was held the day after Convention 2018 which welcomed over 2,500 delegates to London's Barbican Centre for 3 days of networking, learning and development.
