Tom Grinyer – Chair

We're delighted to announce that our chair for this conference will be Tom Grinyer, the new Chief Executive of the British Medical Association. Tom has over two decades of experience of working for membership organisations and has recently joined BMA from his previous Chief Executive role at the Royal College of Anaesthetists.

Alastair McCapra is the Chief Executive at the Chartered Institute of Public Relations. Alastair will provide a case study into CIPRs Client Advisor Service. This initiative is designed to help organisations find reliable and quality professionalism within PR.

After attending PARNs last professionalism conference the Chartered Institute of Housing have launched a Professionalism campaign that has run throughout 2019. Touching on Grenfell and the Hackitt review, Debbie will give an insight into the ongoing work at CIH.

Achieving Chartered Status - How this helped galvanise the emerging project profession
Debbie will be touching on a number of areas the Association of Project Management have been working on. Starting with apprenticeships and speaking more widely on how engaging and supporting new talent helped APM double their student membership in a year. We will also hear about APMs ‘Road to Chartered’ series which aimed to showcase the contribution of Chartered as a vehicle to advance professionalism and particularly the profession of project management. The series examined the components of chartered; what is expected of a chartered body and chartered individuals.

The Society of Radiographers, founded in 1920, is one of the oldest radiography organisations in the world. Gill will presenting on professionalism in Radiography and the initiatives SoR have undertaken to support this.

Promoting the Profession and Promoting Professionalism within Occupational Therapy
The session will cover how the Royal College of Occupational Therapists supports professionalism and promotes the profession, sharing examples of recent RCOT activity and highlighting the challenges, our indicators of success, lessons learned and the focus for future activity.
Lunch and refreshments will be provided, with plenty of time to network with your peers.
