CIHT is a registered charity and thriving membership organisation, based near Old Street Station in London. We represent 14,000 people who work in the highways and transportation sector. We have 12 regions in the UK and a number of international groups.

CIHT wishes to appoint a second Regional Support Officer (RSO). This role is an integral part of the membership team, with the focus on member engagement and communication. Both Regional Support Officers act as the primary point of contact between our Regions and the Institution’s staff at Britannia Walk.

Job Title: Regional Support Officer
Location: London
Salary: £28k plus benefits
Term: 35 hours a week

The successful candidate will be responsible for six regions in the UK and at least one international group, and will work with the Regional Committee e.g. Chair, Communications, Events and Recruitment Officers, to ensure that existing CIHT members are supported and that new members are recruited. The work of the Regional Committees is fundamental to supporting and developing membership and the RSO role is essential to supporting their activities.

This role requires someone with excellent interpersonal skills, good spoken and written English, the ability to communicate and build relationships with a range of stakeholders, at all levels, and an understanding of member engagement and working with volunteers. In addition, the post holder will need an understanding of data protection and handling confidential data appropriately, as well as good organisational skills and an eye for detail. The successful candidate will have a positive attitude and the ability to work constructively and productively as part of a busy team. There is travel within the UK, some of which may require overnight stays. A willingness to do this is essential.

You will have a good education, proven IT skills including use of Word, PowerPoint, Excel, and experience of using and maintaining a CRM system.
