The Professional Associations Research Network (PARN) is a not-for-profit membership organisation for professional bodies, offering expertise, experience and perspective on key issues in the sector through research, bespoke services, networking, events and training. PARN currently has approximately 140 member organisations in the UK, Ireland, Australia and Canada. We are currently looking for a part time project manager to support the delivery of the organisations work programme priorities with a specific emphasis on the delivery of the Promoting Professionalism project.

About the role

Job Title: Project Manager (Part Time)
Term: 18 Month temporary contract (2 days a week)
Location: Bristol
Salary: £24,000 - £30,000 pro rate (Dependent on experience)

Reporting directly into the Chief Executive Officer and working closely alongside the Senior Researcher you will support the delivery of the organisation’s work programme priorities with specific emphasis on the delivery of the Promoting Professionalism project using project management methodology. 

This will include creating and delivering project work plans, revising as appropriate to meet changing needs and requirements. You will also be identifying resources and assigning responsibilities, as well as managing the day-to-day operational aspects of the projects, ensuring project documents are updated and maintained. Ensuring projects are completed on time and within budget and submitting project status reports on a regular basis to steering groups is another key element. You will be required to manage a team or four or five researchers and to work closely with relevant stakeholders to ensure effective and efficient implementation of the projects. Occasional travel to London will be involved.

What we need

You will have proven robust project management and planning skills with experience of leading small to medium-scale projects, preferably with practical research objectives. You will have excellent communication, negotiating and influencing skills, and demonstrate strong stakeholder relationship skills. You will have financial literacy as well as an ability to disseminate and translate complex information and discussion into key actions. Experience in social sciences research would be very useful. 

What we offer

This is a part time position 2 days a week for 18 months initially with possible extension. We anticipate this to involve 4 half days a week but this is flexible. The salary range is £24k to £ rata. The role will be based at Great George Street, Bristol
