The Chartered Society of Physiotherapy (CSP) is the professional body and trade union for physiotherapists in the United Kingdom. Founded in 1894, the Chartered Society of Physiotherapy has grown to become the profession's largest membership organisation with more than 53,000 members.
The Charitable Trust is an independent charitable organisation. It supports physiotherapy education and research through annual awards to members.
Established in 1980, the trust's funds come mainly from an annual CSP donation. Occasional bequests and legacies from members, member groups and external organisations are also given to the fund.
Currently the trust allocates about £200,000 to members each year. This provides funding for research projects (for both novice and experienced researchers) and support for very many professional development activity applications.
