Job Title: Governance Manager
Salary: Grade 7, £31,872.00 pro rata
Term: 3 Days a week (0.6 FTE)
The Board of Trustees is the Society’s executive and is responsible for ensuring that the Society conforms to the terms of its Royal Charter and status under law as a charitable body. It has the ultimate responsibility for ensuring that the Society’s objectives are met and for the Society’s financial performance. The Governance Manager is responsible for providing the Board of Trustees, Senior Management Team, and other Society personnel with advice and guidance on constitutional matters relating to governance issues. In addition, the wider committee structure requires appropriate oversight in terms of constitutional requirements to ensure that decision-making occurs at the appropriate level and committees are aware of the constraints upon their spheres of operation.
The successful candidate will have:
- Experience of managing governance and committees within a professional body, University or membership organisation.
- Substantial experience of servicing senior level boards and committees.
- Understanding of governance in an organisation with a defined constitution or governing document.
- Excellent written communication skills including minute writing and proof reading.
A willingness to travel is essential, as is the ability to keep on top of multiple projects and tasks and to work flexibly.
