With more than 60,000 members, The British Psychological Society is the professional body for psychologists in the UK and the largest psychology community in Europe. We are looking for someone to join our Professional Development Centre helping to administer and organise conferences and events.  You will need to have proven admin skills along with experience in a customer-facing role.  You should enjoy multi-tasking and must be able to travel to our conferences.

About the role

Job Title: Conference & Professional Development Assistant 
Location: Leicester
Salary: Grade 4, Salary £22,345 pa

You will need previous experience of working on aspects of organising conferences or events, including administration, teamwork and liaising with internal and external suppliers. You will represent the team and the Society at committee meetings, supplier meetings and face-to-face with delegates at conferences.

The successful candidate will be:

  • A highly motivated self-starter, with excellent organisational skills
  • A team player with the ability to communicate effectively both verbally and in writing
  • Able to multi-task, think logically and creatively
  • Able to work collaboratively  with the team
  • Able to display a ‘can-do’ attitude
  • Able to work in a fast-paced, deadline driven environment
  • Able to travel to meetings and conferences (you will be required to work away from home on occasion)

A willingness to travel is essential, as is the ability to keep on top of multiple projects and tasks and to work flexibly.
