BIFM Chief Executive to Step Down

This week the British Institute of Facilities Management (BIFM) announced that their Chief Executive Gareth Tancred will be stepping down after six years at the organisation.

The Board of Directors at BIFM has asked their current Chief Operating Officer, James Sutton, to take on the role of Chief Executive Officer following the resignation of Gareth, who leaves to pursue other opportunities.

James has been with the organisation since 2013. He was previously at The Chartered Institute of Marketing (CIM) for ten years, where he held senior positions more recently as its Acting Chief Executive and Director of Strategic Development. James has been instrumental in the development and delivery of BIFM’s long-term strategy.

BIFM looks forward to continuing their work in delivering qualifications, training and support to the facilities management community.
