The Royal Academy of Engineering and Science Council are launching an innovative Equality, Diversity and Inclusion Progression Framework for professional bodies.
The framework builds on the Engineering Diversity Concordat and the Science Council Declaration on Diversity, Equality and Inclusion with the aim of helping professional bodies in science and engineering track and plan progress on diversity and inclusion.
We’re delighted that the hosts have provided 10 free places for PARN members for the launch event:
Thursday 15 December
Institution of Civil Engineers
1 Great George St, London SW1P 3AA.
The event will offer an opportunity to find out how the Framework supports planning and progress monitoring on diversity and inclusion, and how to use and complete it. It has been developed by a working group of ten PEI and Science Council representatives, drawn from a range of professional bodies, working with consultants For Business Sake.
Based on a four-level maturity model, the framework covers the following eight areas of professional body activity.
1. Governance and leadership
2. Membership and professional registration
3. Meetings, conferences and events
4. Education and training, accreditation and examinations
5. Prizes, awards and grants
6. Communications, marketing, outreach and engagement
8. Monitoring and measuring
