ACT Launches New CPD Scheme

 

The Association of Corporate Treasurers (ACT) launched its new CPD scheme in early 2013, moving to a compulsory output based system, all Associate Members, Members and Fellows now need to complete.

The first CPD declaration for this scheme took place with the 2014/15 membership renewals (June 2014). The communication campaign included articles and comment in the membership magazine, email campaigns, the launch of a quarterly CPD e-newsletter and a podcast (the first podcast to be recorded at the ACT) which looked at why CPD was introduced, what’s involved, who needed to make a declaration and how to make this.

In addition to the standard CPD declaration, the ACT launched a CPD Accredited Employer scheme, which enables companies to highlight their professional and personal development processes so that members’ CPD could be covered via their own company schemes.

 

Ria Robinson, Director of Membership and Company Secretary at ACT told us:

“It’s important for members to connect positively with their CPD. In launching our CPD scheme we wanted to engage our members and encourage them to develop and maintain professional standards. The reaction to the CPD launch has been overwhelmingly positive and a month after the first declaration, over 60% of our members have either declared or were covered under the Accredited Employer scheme.”
