About the Research

Foundation Degrees are a work-based study route to an academic qualification. These degrees have the potential to increase access to higher education qualifications for less advantaged people while ensuring that the skills and knowledge imparted to them meets the demands of employers.

Foundation Degree Forward (FDF) commissioned us to identify how Foundation Degrees fit in with routes to qualification in the professions.

We also looked at opportunities for facilitating partnerships between professional bodies and Foundation Degree providers, as well as the barriers that might prevent such a collaboration.
