PARN Announces the First Recipients of the ATN Engagement Awards

Professional Associations Research Network (PARN) is proud to announce the first recipients of its Ask the Network (ATN) Engagement Awards, which recognise the top five organisations that have demonstrated exceptional support with PARN’s ATN Surveys.

The award is designed to acknowledge and celebrate organisations that have made significant contributions to fostering active and meaningful engagement with the professional body sector through PARN's ATN Surveys. The top five organisations with the most ATN survey responses in 2022 receiving the award are:

Market Research Society - MRS

Research Quality Association - RQA

Society for the Environment

Chartered Institute of Ergonomics and Human Factors - CIEHF

Chartered Quality Institute - CQI

In response to receiving the award, Vince Desmond, Chief Executive Officer at The Chartered Quality Institute said “The PARN ATN Award is a great idea! Not just because we have been recognised but because this promotes the idea of collaboration and sharing within the PB community that PARN facilitates.  There is a wealth of experience with our community which can help with shared operational challenges. And we have the overriding strategic challenge of promoting professional ethics and competence in a world where trust is a crucial commodity and there is a battle for talent. At a recent CEO forum, I was pleased to hear the sentiment from a number of PB leaders who reflected that PBs have moved from a position of ‘protecting their turf’ towards closer collaboration. Long may that continue”

Ask The Network Surveys (ATNs) are short surveys exclusive to members which provide the unique opportunity to ask our network of members, and non-members across the professional body sector about a topic of their choice, on any area of interest or practice.

Anthony Wilkinson, Director of Operations for The Research Quality Association (RQA) said “RQA is proud and honoured to be recognised as a dedicated and loyal supporter of PARN’s Ask The Network (ATN) Surveys.

I believe that ATN Surveys play a vital role in supporting associations across the not-for-profit sector.

For RQA, as a dynamic and focussed association, we derive benefit from the ATN Surveys by studying the questions in the context of our organisation and then absorbing the Survey Reports – valuable resources in my view.

I would like to thank PARN for its continued commitment to the sector.”

PARN is delighted that the awards have been so well received and we look forward to developing more awards to recognise collaboration and commitment to the sector.

“We are thrilled to have received such a positive response to the ATN Engagement Awards and we are delighted to recognise the winners, demonstrating their commitment to the sector” said Robert Pitts, Deputy CEO. “The input from our network is invaluable, and we are grateful for their continued commitment to PARN and the sector”.

The awards will be recognised annual with the top five organisations with the most ATN Survey responses from 1 January to 31 December 2023 being the next to receive the award.

Those receiving the ATN Engagement award will be presented a digital badge, which they are encouraged to display on their website. Winners will also be invited to attend the PARN conference, planned for spring 2023 for a formal presentation to receive a certificate recognising the award.

PARN is dedicated to promoting best practice while equipping professional bodies to deal with common challenges and the ATN Engagement Awards are a natural extension of this mission. By recognising organisations that have made a significant impact in fostering active and meaningful engagement, PARN hopes to inspire others to do the same and promote the importance of community building within the unique professional body sector.

"Our goal is to foster strong, supportive communities and the ATN Engagement Awards are a powerful way to acknowledge and celebrate the organisations that are leading the way," said Robert.
