NEW CEOS AT RPS AND SCP

Last month saw the Royal Pharmaceutical Society (RPS) and the Society of Chiropodists and Podiatrists (SCP) welcome new CEOs.

Paul Bennett, pharmacist, began his role as the new Chief Executive of the Royal Pharmaceutical Society in July. He joins the RPS from his position as Chief Officer of the Hampshire and Isle of Wight Local Pharmaceutical Committee.

Speaking on his appointment, Paul said:

“I am delighted that I have been invited to join the Royal Pharmaceutical Society as its new Chief Executive at this important time for the profession. As a pharmacist myself, I am passionate about the advancement of the science and practice of pharmacy and driven by an ambition to support pharmacists, wherever they may practice, to improve the public’s health and wellbeing.”

The Society of Chiropodists and Podiatrists and the College of Podiatry have announced that Steve Jamieson is to be its new Chief Executive Officer, taking over in September 2017 from interim CEO Rosemary Gillespie who has been in post since June 2016.

Steve Jamieson is currently Chief Executive Officer at The Hospice of St Francis in Berkhamsted, Hertfordshire where he has led the organisation for two-and-half years.

Steve commented: ‘I am absolutely delighted to be appointed as Chief Executive of the Society and College of Podiatry, and I look forward to joining this ambitious organisation and working with Council, the staff team and members to help drive the organisation forward and ensure it delivers its ambitious strategy and in doing so delivers better outcomes for patients and acts as a champion for podiatry and for members.’

PARN wishes to congratulate the newly appointed CEOs and looks forward to working with them in the near future.
