New Year, New Strategies

As the new year begins, it's a great time for professional bodies to reflect on the past year and to consider new strategies for the coming year. Whether you are a member of a professional association, a trade union, or any other kind of professional organization, now is the time to think about how you can make the most of your membership and how you can contribute to the success of your organization.

One key strategy for professional bodies in the new year is to focus on building and strengthening relationships within the organization. This can involve organizing events and activities that bring members together, such as networking events, seminars, and workshops. It can also involve working to improve communication and collaboration within the organization, through the use of online tools and platforms, or by setting up committees and task forces to work on specific projects.

Another important strategy for professional bodies is to focus on supporting the professional development of their members. This can involve offering training and education opportunities, such as courses, webinars, and conferences. It can also involve providing access to resources and materials that can help members stay up-to-date with the latest trends and developments in their field.

Finally, professional bodies can also consider ways to increase their visibility and impact in the broader community. This can involve building partnerships with other organizations, participating in public events and conferences, and using social media and other online platforms to share information and engage with the public.

Overall, the new year is a great time for professional bodies to take stock of their goals and priorities, and to develop new strategies for achieving them. By focusing on building relationships, supporting professional development, and increasing visibility and impact, professional bodies can set themselves up for a successful and impactful year ahead.

One PARN member, The British Parking Association (BPA) are delighted to announce that their new Strategic Plan will be launched early this year. The three-year plan has been driven by member intelligence and the changing external landscape. In their recent newsletter they said

"We would like to thank our elected Council members and BPA staff team for their leadership and support in helping to create this bold new vision. These are exciting times for our Association – so please watch this space!"

Let us know in the comments if you have implemented any new strategies, or if you have any in the pipeline!
