Expert by Experiences wanted to represent the client/patient/service user voice on the SCoPEd Oversight Committee

Are you a client, patients or service user of counselling of psychotherapy wanting to make a positive impact upon the profession? We wish to recruit two Experts By Experience to the SCoPEd Steering and Oversight Committee, which is working on a shared framework of standards and practice for counselling and psychotherapy. You will represent the needs and insights of clients/service-users/patients. You will work with Committee members (comprising the CEOs of the partner organisations) to inform the development of the competence framework so that it meets its vision to improve the quality and safety of counselling and psychotherapy provision in the UK.

You will have a experience and an understanding of mental health issues affecting people of all ages and walks of life. You will be committed to client/patient service user involvement whether in the private sector, through the NHS or charity services. Previous experience of committee work is desirable but not essential as training will be provided.

Association for Christian Counsellors (ACC), Association for Child Psychotherapists (ACP), British Association for Counselling and Psychotherapy (BACP), British Psychoanalytic Council (BPC), Human Givens Institute (HGI), National Counselling Society (NCS) and UK Council for Psychotherapy (UKCP).

Location: Homebased but may be required to attend face to face meetings once COVID 19 regulations change

Term of office: Initial one-year term with an annual review. Maximum term of three years.

Fees: £20 per hour for meetings and any other pre-agreed activities, with any travel/subsistence paid in line with UKCP’s Expense Policy
