About the role
Job Title: Committee Members
Remuneration: £150 a day plus reasonable expenses
NRPSI is in the process of refreshing its Professional Conduct Committee (PCC) and Disciplinary Committee (DC) with the recruitment of new Lay and Practitioner Members, and invites applications for appointment as Lay Members to the committees (at various times over the coming year as vacancies become available).
The PCC investigates complaints made against Registrants to assess whether there is evidence of a breach of the Code of Professional Conduct and, if so, whether this warrants consideration by the DC. The DC considers complaints by the way of a hearing and, if applicable, decides on a sanction.
The rules governing the PCC and DC are contained under section F of the NRPSI Disciplinary Framework and Procedures. This document, along with the NRPSI Code of Conduct, can be found on the NRPSI website www.nrpsi.org.uk .
The PCC work is undertaken at home, as the PCC conducts its work by email and telephone. The DC always meets for hearings, usually in London. Each complete day worked attracts a fee of £150. Reasonable travelling and subsistence costs will be met. Lay Member candidates should have experience in complaints handling and a high regard for professional ethics. They should be able to demonstrate fairness and impartiality, and maintain confidentiality due to the sensitive nature of the work.
How to apply
Applicants should send their CV and a short statement of how they meet the requirements for their chosen committee to firstname.lastname@example.org Applications will be assessed by a panel who will make recommendations to NRPSI.
Closing Date: 27th March 2019.
