Time: 12pm – 5pm includes networking lunch
Location: Open University offices at 1-11 Hawley Crescent, Camden Town, London NW1 8NP
This half-day structured Reflective Workshop on Revalidation will discuss strategic reasons for revalidation along
with preparation & implementation practices plus registrant
reaction.
Our Reflective Workshops encourage participants to reflect on and
share their experiences to improve action and professional practice.
PARN will provide a sketch model to inform and structure discussion
and reflection. Participants will be expected to contribute initial
thoughts on how their experiences fit (or do not fit) the model. As the
discussion proceeds the PARN facilitator will draw lessons for further
reflection.
Don't miss this great opportunity to get expert advice, share best
practice, find out about helpful resources and learn about key trends!
About the topic
Revalidation is a very common process in the US and a number of key UK regulatory bodies, such as the General Medical Council and the General Dental Council, are in the process of introducing a revalidation system for their registrants.
Is there a trend towards revalidation in other sectors?
What does revalidation involve? What kinds of processes come under this title? How does it relate to CPD? Is it expensive? What kinds of drivers are there for revalidation? And how should the path be prepared for its implementation?
This workshop will discuss strategic reasons for revalidation; preparation and implementation practices; and member/registrant reaction. We will be sharing problems and advice for
successful systems.
Who should attend?
These workshops are aimed at CEO and strategic-level thinkers at
professional bodies. They are ideal for staff who need to be forward
thinking and in touch with current trends and best practice.
Format for the workshop
The workshop will begin at 12pm with a presentation from PARN to
contextualise the topic, followed by a networking lunch around 1pm. Then
the workshop will continue with structured sessions and facilitated
discussion until 5pm, with a tea & coffee break in the afternoon.
Workshops are limited to 15 participants, enabling valuable interaction and sharing of experiences.
Following the workshop, PARN will produce a summary of the discussion
for participants. In addition, we will establish a group on PARNPeople,
our networking site for the professional body sector, to enable
participants to:
• Continue to debate the topics
• Share documents and links to resources
