This half-day structured Reflective Workshop on Accreditation offers facilitated group discussions on key issues related to professional bodies and are a great opportunity to get expert advice, share best practice, find out about helpful resources and learn about trends in the sector.
About the Accreditation workshop
What is accreditation? A complex term, it is used to describe a number of quite different processes and systems.
We know that many professional bodies offer an extensive accreditation service for individuals, organisations or courses but either do not charge for this or are under-charging. What is the value of accreditation to those accredited? And how does this value change over time as the reputation of the professional body increases? Professional bodies may not realise the commercial value of accreditation and either be afraid to charge or not know how much the market will bear.
This workshop will discuss different approaches to, and systems of, accreditation of people, organisations and courses of study, and will look at the costs, resources, and processes involved.
We will discuss levels of charging and value to the accredited, as well as ways to overcome problems.
Who should attend?
These workshops are aimed at CEO and strategic-level thinkers at professional bodies. They are ideal for staff who need to be forward thinking and in touch with current trends and best practice.
Format for the workshop
The workshop will begin at 12pm with a presentation from PARN to contextualise the topic, followed by a networking lunch around 1pm. Then the workshop will continue with structured sessions and facilitated discussion until 5pm, with a tea & coffee break in the afternoon.
Workshops are limited to 15 participants, enabling valuable interaction and sharing of experiences.
Following the workshop, PARN will produce a summary of the discussion for participants. In addition, we will establish a group on PARNPeople, our networking site for the professional body sector, to enable participants to:
• Continue to debate the topics
• Share documents and links to resources
