Join PARN and Equally Professional for a FREE Diversity SIG Workshop
Topic: Setting diversity objectives
Date: 22 June 2011 from 10am to 2.30pm
Context for the Diversity SIG meeting
Setting Diversity Objectives is a recurring challenge for diversity leaders in professional bodies and elsewhere. It is a process of renewal that needs to acknowledge progress to date, objectives to be achieved, obstacles to be overcome.
At a time when resources are being squeezed diversity leaders will be under pressure to maintain focus and impetus against a competing background of “more important” issues. But strategically diversity has lost none of its importance, and as we emerge from recession there will be opportunities to further diversify membership and structures that need to be recognised and grasped. How will your organisation respond to these challenges?
Wherever you are on the diversity journey the challenges will be the same. What will vary across organisations will be the level of experience and expertise that leaders can bring to the challenges.
This workshop will allow leaders at the start of the journey, those with some success under their belts, and those from organisations where practice is highly developed to share experiences with their peers and go back to their organisations with fresh ideas and strategies to address the challenges they face.
Workshop presentations will be given by the Equality and Human Rights Commission and others. Group sessions will provide opportunities for discussion and networking.
