16-17 June 2009
Trinity College, Dublin
One of the main trends in CPD is the move towards measuring by outputs rather than, or as well as, inputs. What does this mean? What are output measures intended to achieve? How does this relate to the meaning of CPD itself? And does what professional bodies do in this area contribute to raising the reputation of the profession?
The conference will report on PARN’s research on output measurements which was conducted in 2007 and commissioned by the International Federation of Accountants (IFAC). Please click here to download PARN's research report for IFAC. This presentation will offer alternatives for approaching output measurement, its difficulties and ways to succeed.
This event is crucial for all working in professional standards and CPD, as well as the strategic thinkers who are responsible for shaping their professional body in response to the needs of the profession.
Overview of event:
The conference will begin with an evening reception on Tuesday 16th June where Professor Andy Friedman will introduce the themes of the event to stimulate discussion over refreshments. The conference will consist of a presentation of PARN’s research, followed by a workshop and three case studies.
