PARN's mission is:
"to increase the profile of issues relating to professionals, professionalism and professional bodies through research and networking with the aim of determining and promoting professional good practice".
PARN's aims and objectives are to:
- promote good practice among professional bodies
- generate research for which there is demonstrable demand from professional bodies
- increase the profile of research on professional bodies, professionalism and professionals
- provide access to research results for professional bodies and the general public
- facilitate networking among professional bodies
PARN's philosophy:
Our activities are guided by our members
As a membership organisation, we believe members should influence the direction taken. The Steering Group is central to this philosophy. It monitors progress and offers advice to ensure that PARN continues to meet its mission, aims and objectives.
We are not commercially motivated
PARN is a not for profit organisation. However, we have to undertake income generating activities to support the achievement of our aims, and to off-set the work we do for the wider benefit of the professional bodies sector and the public.
We support learning through networks
We believe that developing and supporting active networks provides valuable opportunities for professional bodies to share experiences and learn from others.
We will seek to expand our network through the UK, Ireland, Australia, Canada, and into other countries where professional bodies show support for our mission.
