What did we talk about?

The Equality and Human Rights Commission (EHRC) commissioned us to identify socioeconomic barriers, apart from education, that prevent access to the professions.

We found that, although there is a clear link between social status, the labour market, social mobility and occupational levels, there is little information dealing explicitly with low socioeconomic status and access to the professions. Previous research has focused primarily on class, structural and cultural issues, leaving other socioeconomic groups under-researched. This trend is especially prevalent when it comes to the barriers these groups face in the professions.

Through this literature review we looked at low socioeconomic groups and identified links between social demographics and immobility.

What did we find?
